I love drugstore makeup, it’s affordable, easily accessible and a lot of brands hold very good products that are just waiting to be found! As you know I am compiling a list of my favourite products within a series of brand focus blog posts and this week I have chosen to feature Bourjois; I have spoken to a number of people about this brand prior to writing about it and the general overview I had of the brand was actually this ‘it’s drugstore but its for older women, right’? Wrong! Bourjois have some amazing products some of which I use on a daily basis as part of my general get up and go routine.
This is perfect for a get up and go application, it’s formula can be applied in many different ways & leaves a very light weight feeling on the skin whilst still providing good coverage. Once of the best things about it has an SPF of 30 and built in anti pollution, which is great if you work in the city! It currently retails at £9.99
This is my daily use concealer, it’s hydrating, doesn’t settle in to fine lines, provides great coverage & doesn’t leave a cake residue. I apply it with either a beauty blender, a brush or occasionally I will melt into my skin with my fingers tips depending on the amount of coverage I need; for only £7.99 I think it’s a steal for the amount of product you get and the quality of the product!
This is my miracle powder, it works wonders on my skin! Working as a makeup artist & a clinician it can sometimes take a toll on my skin, occasionally it’s very dry due to chemicals and some days it can be oily depending on the treatments I provide and how much moisture is in the air that day; this product saves me on my oily days. I apply it with a flat kabuki brush for on the go or set it with a beauty blender for under my eyes & around my nose, it really does keep my makeup in place & I hardly ever worry about touch ups after I have applied this in the morning. Currently retailing at most drugstores for £8.99.
Although a little late to the velvet lip party they truly have concocted a jem of a product here! The lipstick dries down to a wonderful matte consistency that doesn’t dry out your lips and lasts all day long, I have never had to reapply this product so you avoid the build up of too much lipstick that leads to bleeding around the edges of your mouth. This product is available in a wide range of colours and retails for £8.99.
This is one of the first products that taught me how to fake plump lips, the light reflective particles make your lips look full, plump & hydrated. I don’t think I could praise this product enough, it is by far one of my favourite drugstore lip gold products. The formula doesn’t dry out & is available in 10 shades, currently retails for £7.99.
