‘Where can I get cruelty free makeup in the UK’.
Here is a question I get asked daily from clients, colleagues, friends & family but unfortunately it isnt a straight forward question to answer. Many cosmetic companies go under the radar by stating that they are cruelty free when in fact they are not – cosmetic companies will usually get away with this by saying that the merchandise that they sell hasn’t been tested on animals however, this does not mean that the ingredients within the products they sell haven’t.
It is sad to see this as common practice for a lot of companies but there are ways of dodging this bullet and finding cosmetics that are perfect for you! Below is a short list of cruelty free cosmetic companies within the UK;
Kat Von D (UK shortly)
Another quick tip is if you are ever in doubt as to which company is cruelty free you can always search if the company sells in countries where it is common law to test cosmetics on animals…
Here are a few ingredients to avoid in order to avoid cruelty products;
Vitamin B Factor
Hydrolyzed Animal Protein
Tallow Fatty Alcohol
Sea Turtle Oil
This is just a short list which is mainly cosmetics based, if you would like more information on animal cruelty free products you can find these here www.peta.org
