My Journey To Fitness With D4 Fitness!

I decided to sign up for some personal training sessions at D4 Fitness and lucky me snagged a place training with the owner of the company, Paul Shaw.

I hope you are all ready to come on an exciting journey with me! Today I decided to sign up for some personal training sessions at D4 Fitness and lucky me snagged a place training with the owner of the company, Paul Shaw.

Screen Shot 2017-06-07 at 16.10.25.pngI hit a placebo with everything to do with workouts, I was bored with my routine and had stopped seeing progress/gains months ago. The reason I haven’t tried a personal trainer sooner was because I was left disappointed with the previous ones I’ve had. Although I’m unsure why, I’ve narrowed it down to these 2 reasons: the workouts either weren’t enjoyable or I didn’t feel as though I was making progress even after a measurable amount of time but then that has to be my fault right? Maybe it was about lack of commitment…

I’ve been lured in by the great before and after pictures to try personal training again, D4′ clientele appear to have some amazing results! I think the unique selling point that works for them is that all the training is 121 so it’s literally just you and the PT in the room, so there’s no one else waiting for equipment, no time or need to get self-concious. It seems like a perfect set up, really!Screen Shot 2017-06-07 at 14.57.01.png

The thing is I’ve been active my whole life, whether that’s been ballet, gymnastics, yoga or gym etc there’s always been something keeping me at a decent fitness level. Then my schedule got in the way and I became bored and then I became lazy, without realising it… until recently. I found myself going to the gym with my partner 4 times a week and going through the motions, not lifting heavier, not really pushing myself, just becoming… Well stagnant, I guess?

All of that is hopefully about to change, the reputation at D4 Fitness is off to a great start despite still being in it’s first year, that must be a sign that the trainers are good and so I’m taking the chance and trusting them! I plan to keep you updated on a weekly basis to track my progress, it’s even getting it’s own day on the blog dedicated to it; so from now on there will be a new post every Wednesday at 8am all about my new fitness regime!

Anyway my first session is a week today and apart from being a little apprehensive that Paul will kill me off, I’m excited to start and hoping that it puts me right back on track to loving my workouts again. I’ve got my initial session booked in bright and early and I can’t wait for whats to come!

TRIGGER WARNING!

My weight and measurements are listed down below, if you are a reader who experiences problems with eating disorders or body dysmorphia etc I would advise you to not look at following. I will not be listing any information to do with BMI, only weight in kg and measurements.

My main focus is to build my strength back and obviously what comes with that, muscle gain. Currently I weigh in at 47kg so I’m expecting that to go up slowly over time and start to see some definition, my current measurements are as follows:

  • Waist 23.5″
  • Hips 35″
  • Legs average out at 19.5″
  • Arms come in at a tiny 9″

I won’t be updating you with this type of information weekly but possibly every 6 weeks.
