Today I’m going to be talking about the trend I love and hate, having said this I actually love all makeup but there’s a couple of things out there that I’ve come across and it’s just not for me! I do have a couple of holy grail trends that I imagine will stay with me for a very long time, keep reading to find out what they are…
I’ve always loved dewy skin, it’s a trend that look beautiful on every skin tone and type but it’s different to get right, especially on pale skin. There’s a fine line between dewy and looking like your sweating and also dewy skin and looking like your suffering from a cold-fever!
Do it right though and it looks effortlessly stunning and it’s to draw attention for all of the right reasons. Just like the queen of gleam herself @jamiegenevieve she never gets it wrong…
Liner has been a staple of mine from the early days of (me) wearing makeup and it’s never gone away. I love trying different colours, different techniques and looks with eyeliner, it’s diverse and there will be a shape, colour and consistency to suit you.
Crazy Lip Colour
What a way to express yourself?! I have to fave shades of lipstick, brown and bright orange. It’s amazing on how many different colours they are to play with and how many shades there are within those colours. One swipe of a good lilies can completely change your look and your mood.
Ultra Bright Strobing
Remember earlier when I said there’s a fine line between dewy and sweaty? Yeah, this is what I’m talking about! It’s obviously personal opinion, no shade and if you like your highlight blinding then keep on shining! It’s just not something I’ve ever gotten along with.
This is one of the worst trends I’ve seen… I actually despise it. I haven’t seen it add anything to a makeup look yet, it kind of ruins however good the rest of the look was, the side curve up at the end was ok as it stills looked natural but come on guys, getting out of hand a little?
‘Beating’ your face with just about anything
Again, this is another horrible, tacky trend that’s being doing the rounds on the internet of recent times. I seen someone do it with a chicken nugget the other day, A CHICKEN NUGGET – don’t even get me started on the impact that has on hygiene right now. Not to mention how suggestive the term ‘beating your face’ is, I used it once in a blog post a while back and regretted it as soon as I released the connotation (I know it took a while). Not for me!
